In order to make the competition more equal, players were divided into two different age groups. One group contained under-18 players, and remaining group represented all the other players (above-18 group). Scrimmage segments (generally 15 and 20 minutes long) were very competitive and had dynamic character featuring number of spectacular plays. In addition, players were put through numerous practice drills. During the drills players were segmented into the perimeter group and the post group. Two different groups were put through adequate drills to the players positions. As a result Polish Shootout 2002 gave players opportunity to present themselves to American coaches and provided them with opportunity to improve their skills. Each player tried to impress American recruiters with his skills the best he could, therefore, commitment to hard work, enthusiasm, and rivalry between players was seen from the beginning through the end of the camp. Competing players kept American coaches focused and every little detail was quickly noted in coaches' notes. Each American coach hosted at Polish Shootout 2002 was provided with all the necessary transportation, hotel reservations, and detail camp rosters. At night, after the evening session was over, coaches were even able to do a little site seeing at the Warsaw's beautiful and history rich old part of town. Polish Shootout 2002 created opprtunity for becoming a student athlete in the United States for two players. Jerzy Duda received a scholarship at Mid-Plains Community College in Nebraska, and Adam Metelski ended up in Grayson County College in Texas on behalf of University of Georgia . In addition Łukasz Obrzut draw plenty of interest, however he decided to use his personal contacts and ended up at Bridgton Academy with bright future at Fordham University. Although, due to the coaching staff changes at Fordham, Łukasz recently decided to sign a letter of intent with legendary University of Kentucky. It makes us very proud, and we wish him best of luck. Tomasz Celej had also a chance to go college in the United States, however personal issues forced him to stay in Poland. He decided to establish his professional carrer in Polish Basketball League where he became one of top scores in the league and best among Poles (season 2002/03). Coaches also showed a lot of interest in younger players present at Polish Shootout 2002. All American coaches were very happy and pleasantly surprised with their experience, and announced their willingness in participating in next year's Polish Shootout 2003.
